A STORY BY SIGFRED’S MOTHER

STORIES BY LE MANAGEMENT KIDS

In the back of the house I grew up in, my mother had a darkroom for some years. When I was 10-12 years old I was handed over one of her Kodak cameras with two lenses. I have always been into photography, and even bought a new camera when I was pregnant with Sigfred. Realisme soon took over and the only thing I ever use now is the camera in my cellphone. So it is really interesting to see how a real photographer with the right equipment captures Sigfred.

At the end of the summer break we got the opportunity to go to Copenhagen for a couple of days for a job with Zara. Lotte from our agency had warned us before hand that the customer was challenged with getting the final approvals. We ended up having a whole day to ourself, where we enjoyed several play grounds, visited a store named Faraos Cigarer and the LEGO store. We sought shelter from the rain at a little cafe and got together with my cousins in the evening. It was a lovely day, but I felt like I was skulking. Lotte was so sweet, comforting and assured us that there was nothing to do.

The approvals were finalised and the next day we met some of the team and drove to the location. At location, another one of the mothers asked me if we had been at a specific play ground the day before. We had been there, and she had seen Sigfred and thought he looked like someone waiting to shoot with Zara.

We were in an arcitecht-designed 60’s house with furniture from the same time period. The team had filled the house with perfectly chosen Sigfred toys: dinosaurs, pirates and instruments. It was without a doubt the funniest thing for him to play around with all of the toys. He hardly noticed the team of 12-14 people standing around him taking pictures of him. To me it was fascinating to experience the big production working together. There even was a child wrangler, a professional children entertainer, who was drawing and making sure Sigfred and another boy was having fun ind the breaks. The team must have been busy since they had to finish everything in half of the time, but we never noticed. The athmosphere was calm and relaxed throughout the day, and we made our planned bus trip home in time. Sigfred slept most of the way home.

In recent years, Sigfred has had different jobs, and I still haven not seen a 2-3 year old boy who actually enjoys changing clothes. Neither does Sigfred unless the clothes has dinosaurs or Ninja Turtles on them, but he is easily distracted.. He is very social and playful, easily laughs and likes to see things happen.  When the photographer tells a story from the Junglebook, the producer throws pillows to him or there is something exciting to play with, Sigfred has a great time, and the result is some nice pictures for the customer – and some for me.
